WP Fastest Cache is a simple, popular page cache (more than a million active installs, rated 4.9 of 5 on WordPress.org) with a one-time Premium licence. Many of the techniques that move a PageSpeed score, such as JavaScript minify, deferral, lazy load and WebP, are Premium features there. Here is how it compares with ZeroConfig.
Choose ZeroConfig if
- You want JavaScript minify, deferral, lazy load and WebP/AVIF without paying: they are in ZeroConfig's Free plan (500 images a month).
- You want image conversion done on our servers rather than on your hosting.
- You want a check on your own pages that switches off a feature when it changes how a page looks.
Choose WP Fastest Cache if
- You only need a simple page cache and you like choosing each option yourself.
- You prefer to pay once: WP Fastest Cache Premium is a one-time licence from $49 with no renewal.
- You want features ZeroConfig leaves out on purpose: combining CSS and JavaScript files, database cleanup.
- You want a plugin with a long record on WordPress.org. ZeroConfig is in beta and not listed yet.

Switching from WP Fastest Cache
- Clear WP Fastest Cache's cache, then deactivate and delete it. Two page caches fight over the same files; ZeroConfig warns you if it sees another optimiser still active.
- Install ZeroConfig (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin) and press Turn on under Settings → ZeroConfig.
- A few minutes later the Safety Check has loaded your pages with and without each feature; "Is it working?" shows the result.
Questions
Why does ZeroConfig not combine files?
On HTTP/2, combining CSS or JavaScript saves little and is a common cause of broken layouts and scripts. ZeroConfig minifies and defers instead.
Can I run both?
No. Two page caches conflict. Deactivate WP Fastest Cache first.
Is there a one-time licence for ZeroConfig?
No. Converting images and serving them through a CDN costs us something every month, so paid plans are yearly. The Free plan has no time limit.
Try it on your own site. The Free plan covers one site with no card. Install, press Turn on, and compare your PageSpeed score before and after.
