NitroPack and ZeroConfig share an idea: do the heavy optimisation work on the service's own servers, not on your hosting. They differ in how they charge. NitroPack plans are sized by monthly pageviews and CDN bandwidth; NitroPack describes pageviews as "the amount of traffic you can generate before optimizations stop". ZeroConfig plans have no pageview limit.
Choose ZeroConfig if
- Your traffic is growing or uneven, and you don't want optimisation tied to a pageview count. ZeroConfig has no pageview limit; when a monthly traffic limit is reached nothing breaks, new images come from your own server until the month resets.
- You want the page cache on your own server, so cached pages keep loading from your hosting.
- You want a lower yearly price for one site: Pro is $39/year with 50 GB of image and asset traffic a month.
- You want a check on your own pages that switches off a feature when it changes how a page looks.
Choose NitroPack if
- You want an established service with a large team and a long track record. ZeroConfig is in beta.
- Your traffic fits a NitroPack plan comfortably and you value its all-in-one dashboard.
- You need an agency plan sized beyond 25 sites.

Switching from NitroPack
- Disconnect and deactivate the NitroPack plugin. Two optimisers fight over the same pages; ZeroConfig warns you if it sees another optimiser still active.
- Install ZeroConfig (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin) and press Turn on under Settings → ZeroConfig.
- A few minutes later the Safety Check has loaded your pages with and without each feature; "Is it working?" shows the result.
Questions
Does ZeroConfig count pageviews?
No. Plans are limited by images converted (Free) and by image and asset traffic a month. Page views of your cached HTML are served by your own server and are not counted.
What happens if ZeroConfig goes down?
Your pages keep loading from the page cache on your own server, and images switch back to your originals after a short check. The site gets slower for a while; it does not go down because of us.
Can I run both?
No. Two optimisers conflict. Disconnect NitroPack first.
